In this most urban of jungles it is actually possible to be oft warmed by a Christmas message not overly diluted by commercial considerations. The 'village' nature of Manhattan and its swathes of entrenched European heritage make possible a mood that would not be possible in Los Angeles. Highlights include: The Boys Choir of Harlem with the New York Philharmonic and the Handel's Messiah  Annual Sing-In with the National Chorale at  the  Lincoln  Centre,  the lighting of the Giant Christmas Tree at Rockefeller  Centre and the Giant Snowflake on Fifth Avenue at 57th, soulful sax-honking buskers, the legendary  high-stepping at the  Radio City Christmas Spectacular and an endlessly amazing store window tableaux  tradition.
