Argentina beyond Buenos Aires

Mar Del Plata, a coastal fishing port

Mar Del Plata, a coastal fishing port

It is hard to escape the lure of Buenos Aires, one of the most stylish and  fashionable cities in the world (or at least until the sad economic downturn of 2002-03). The real challenge for visitors is to venture into those parts of the country which accommodate the other two thirds of the 30 million population. There is no corner so remote that it cannot be reached, from jungle wilds to Andean precipices to sub-Arctic national parks.  This piece ventures just outside B.A. to Tigre, heart of the Parana River Delta, and then moves on to the coastal resort of Mar Del Plata, Iguazu Falls; the painted deserts of Northern Argentina, Mendoza, Bariloche, concluding at the island of Tierra del Fuego.

This story runs to about 1,100 words, but can be tailored to editorial requirements.
