Beaches of the Maldives

If heaven is anything like this, please reserve me a seat! I’m surrounded by a cerulean coloured sea, a neat curve of white sandy beach lies to my left and behind me swaying coconut trees contrast against an even bluer sky. Smartly dressed waiters briskly attend to guests every need carrying trays of cool, tropical cocktails and designer salads that cost the earth, but certainly won’t touch your hips. This is the Maldives – a heavenly beach destination that is every inch as good as the postcard perfect images you’ve seen. The hardest decision to make is which beach to swim at, what to have for lunch and when to turn over to ensure an even tan. And with the Boxing Day Tsunami now a distant memory, tourists are once again flocking to this heavenly destination to stay at new and rejuvenated resorts that are the epitome of barefoot chic.
