For years, Caloundra has been a backwater of the Sunshine Coast, attracting mainly family groups and elderly people who shy away from the sophistication of Mooloolaba, Coolum and Noosa. But things are now changing. Besides some promising new developments at Kings Beach, Caloundra’s Queensland Air Museum is about to undergo a major facelift. There is also great kayaking at the north of Bribie Island, with an unparalleled range of birdlife to be experienced.
