I came to Colombia not to buy cocaine but to revel in a little corner of this exotic country, dangerous for its reputation as the drug-related murder capital of the universe.  Fortunately, the province of Amazonas, right on the Amazon River, far belies Colombia's fearsome reputation. A cowboy town without peer, the provincial capital of Leticia is as laidback and friendly a place as you're likely to find.
