Oman’s ancient fortresses and castles, now being restored, are part of this Sultanate’s priceless heritage. Some of the finest examples can be found in the inland city of Nizwa and on the "fortress loop" along the Batinah coast just north of Muscat, taking in the forts of Nakhl, Rostaq and al-Hazm.
