The wind swept coast line of Australia’s magnificent Mornington Peninsula, south of Melbourne, has been a choice destination for countless years. For at least 40,000 years Aboriginal people roamed the geographically diverse peninsula gathering nutritious shellfish and sleeping under the stars.
Nowadays its golfers from near and far who wander over the sand dunes in pursuit of little white balls. More than 20 golf courses have been built on the roughly 60 km long promontory between the ‘boundaries’ of Frankston and Portsea. In fact, the Mornington Peninsula claims to have the greatest concentration of quality golf courses anywhere in Australia.
