Great Ocean Road

Experience one of Australia's most dramatic landscapes: a cliff-hanging scenic drive around Victoria's southwestern coastline.

Lifeline to a once-inaccessible region, the Great Ocean Road twists and turns for 260 kilometres past vistas like the honey limestone stacks of the Twelve Apostles, dramatic stone sentinels near the fishing village of Port Campbell.... and every time you pull in to absorb another panorama, there's another blast of fresh salt air from the Southern Ocean.

Renowned surf beaches and picturesque estuaries and the cool temperate forests and waterfalls of the Otway Ranges are perennial attractions along the way.  Seasonal migrations of Southern Right Whales and the pursuit of historic shipwrecks offer further diversions to the enthusiast.  There's a hint of buried treasure in the legend of the Mahogany Ship, a Portuguese galleon which may lie buried beneath the sands.
