Walking in France is a fun thing to do. Anytime from mid-May to October, chances are that the weather will be of the same balmy quality that inspired generations of French impressionists. The district of Aube, in the south of the Champagne-Ardennes region just east of Paris, is a venue par excellence for some intriguing trails of discovery. In particularly, a couple of newly-signed hiking trails – the “Renoir Trail” and the “Route des Cadoles” (near the champagne-producing village of Les Riceys) are a delight to stroll, each path being a journey of ever-unravelling revelations.
