Explore a mysterious landscape of deserted mountains, black lakes and red earth, an ancient terrain which conceals an exceptional ecological diversity. Around the Madeleine Falls, several species of ancient araucarian pines survive as relics from the age of the dinosaurs. Almost extinct elsewhere, the flightless cagou browses unmolested in the rainforest groves of the Parc provincial de la Riviere Bleue. Meet Yves Letocart, the ornithologist who has devoted twenty years to studying these elusive and vulnerable birds.
