     When the Uhr family settled by the Mary River in the early 19th Century, Maryborough and Sydney were the only two immigration ports on Australia’s eastern coast. Maryborough’s wharf precinct has now been completely restored, including the fascinating Immigration Museum. Today, the ghosts of the Uhrs still prowl the halls of the Customs House Hotel, terrifying some of the guests in residence.
