The Alexandria of Alexander

By: Thomas E King

The three story 15th century Citadel was built near the port city's ancient lighthouse. (Above) Alexandria's character is defined by its Corniche which faces the Mediterrean. (Right) A grand statue of Alexander the Great graces the heart of the city. (Far Right)

Alexandria the Great sailed the Mediterrean stopping at many sun-specked islands in this fabled sea.  Just one metropolis, however, bears his name: the magnificent Egyptian port city of Alexandria.  See his statue in a grand city park or learn more about this amazing explorer in the equally amazing Alexandria Musuem.

An illustrated feature on Alexandria can be written on assignment from 1000 to 2000 words, depending upon editorial requirements.  A short ‘sidebar’ on Alexandria's historic golf course can also be included.

In addition a 'sidebar' can be written on Cairo or the resort town of Sharm el Sheikh.
