I’m soaring over the Lion City! Tucked away in air conditioned comfort some 165 metres above a dynamic city my 360° view from the Singapore Flyer, Asia’s largest observation wheel, encompasses the ever changing cityscape and well beyond to parts of neighbouring Malaysia and Indonesia.
Opening on March 1, the S$240 million Singapore Flyer is the island nation’s newest tourism icon but more signature developments are set to soon open in the island nation.
The Singapore Flyer is located opposite the Marina Bay Sands, the country’s second mega project. Heralded as Southeast Asia’s first luxury integrated resort and on track to be launched in 2009, the S$5 billion resort will combine a five star hotel and casino, state-of-the-art meeting and convention facilities and a wide array of restaurants and retail outlets to create a mini-city destination with outstanding views of the Singapore skyline.
Meanwhile Sentosa Island is gearing up for Singapore’s second integrated resort. The nation’s third mega project will feature nine major attractions and the island’s second casino set over a finely landscaped 49 ha. expanse.
Planned for an early 2010 opening, Resorts World at Sentosa is a S$5.2 billion family oriented resort that will be home to Universal Studios Singapore, a theme park featuring 22 attractions with at least 16 of them designed especially for Singapore and the Quest Marine Life Park, the world’s largest oceanarium.
An illustrated feature on the new attractions of Singapore can be written on assignment from 1000 to 2000 words depending upon editorial requirements. A short ‘sidebar’ or a dedicated feature can also be written on golf opportunities in Singapore.
