But if every masochist needs a sadist, then the chilli growers of north-eastern India must be some of the most sadistic people on earth. The <i>Naga Jolokia</i>, grown in Assam and Meghalaya, was rroclaimed by Indian scientists as “the world’s hottest chilli”. After some scientific dispute, their claims were recently confirmed. I&nbsp; track down the Naga Jolokia in Tezpur, a name meaning “The City of Blood”. Can there be a connection between the blood and these fiery chillies?
